PROFESSIONAL GOALS

My goal as a musician is to explore, for my own edification and to communicate to others, the immense benefit which music has provided me in the course of a long and varied career in the sonic arts.

At the moment, my particular musical interests include:

• the integration of music with time-based visual media, especially animated film
• the abstraction of narrative in the medium of visual music
• the representation of the movements of Nature in musical form through algorithmic methods of composing
• the exploration of connections between European music and other highly evolved music such as Hindustani and Carnatic
• the effective use of the live symphony orchestra in combination with the above
• the effective simulation of the symphony orchestra through the use of software-based musical instruments

This through the medium of modern computer-based composition using my self-designed software composing system, The Transformation Engine.
